The film photos from Paris are back… and it’s love.

Yes, the visuals are special, but more than anything, it’s what they represent: a moment in time I got to create with, and for, my daughter.

A moment of saying yes - not because it was earned, or deserved through hardship - but because sometimes, joy alone is reason enough. I’m wired to believe everything has to come the hard way, and I’m still learning that suffering isn’t a prerequisite for receiving something meaningful.

When Adria first asked to go, my gut reaction was “no way.” It felt too big, too much.

But once I sat with it, looked at the logistics, and asked myself what I really wanted to give her for her 18th - something that meant something - this felt like the perfect way to celebrate.

We share our birthdays. She’s the one who made me a mum. And I hope this becomes a core memory that stays with her, anchoring her in whatever life brings.

Summer with our children feels different. It’s

Summer with our children feels different.

It’s light-filled and loud and sticky with fruit juice and sunscreen. It’s warmth and freedom and the kind of joy that feels effortless; but also fleeting.

There’s a tenderness to these months… maybe because they remind us of our own childhoods. Of long days with our parents, of beach towels and backyard games, of the way summer once felt endless.

Now, watching it all through the eyes of our children, there’s a kind of sweet melancholy, a quiet knowing that these seasons won’t last forever. But that’s also why we hold them close.

I have a handful of sessions left on the Sunshine Coast for 2025, and just two final travel dates for the year:

Long Island – August 4
San Francisco – August 31

Four sessions now, and still…each time feels lik

Four sessions now, and still…each time feels like returning, not beginning.

This one started on a quiet drive from the airport. Warm burek passed around the car. Hot tea waiting for the ride back.

In between: stories of travel, of family, of distance. What it means to live far from those you love, and how close memory can still feel.

He’s grown so much since our first session. This time, he asked to spend more time with me. Not for photos; just to be.

That moment held more than any image could. Because yes, we take photographs to remember someone’s face. But what I’m really capturing is the relationship underneath. The story told in glances, in hands held tight, in wind-swept stillness.

These aren’t just sessions.
They’re threads in a story we’ve been weaving quietly, for years now.

And I don’t take that lightly.
