This one was calm and quiet…sleepy baby, a gentle big sister still figuring it all out. Next time, I know it’ll be smiles and fun all around.

It’s the kind of thing that makes this job feel like more than work; being invited back time and time again as their family and love keep growing 🤍

Doing something for yourself doesn’t take away from all that you do for them.
If anything, it adds to it.

Gillian has been through a lot; more than I’ll say here, because that’s hers to hold.

She’s the kind of person who shows up for everyone ~ quietly, consistently, without asking for much in return. But this time, she booked a session just for herself.

No milestone. No big announcement.
Just a little space to laugh.
To dress up like a cowgirl.
To walk beside a horse on the farm and let joy sneak in, even with a heavy heart. To think of a dear friend she misses terribly, and still choose to be present in her own life.

These are the moments I live for~
where a woman decides she’s allowed to be seen, even when no one else is watching. This is what photos can do when you let them be more than just posed moments. They can hold you in your sorrow and in your spark. They can say: You still get to be here. You still get to feel beautiful.

You don’t need permission to do something just for you.
And it doesn’t make you less of a mother, a friend, a partner, a giver.

It simply reminds you that you’re allowed to receive too ❤️

We think the hardest part is the season we’re in.

The sleepless nights. The tantrums. The slammed doors and eye rolls.
The endless negotiations over bedtime, screen time, and who left the towel on the floor again.

We carry it like it might crush us.
But somewhere deep down,
we know; this is the easy part.

Because at least they’re still here.
Feet thumping down the hallway. Voices calling out from the next room.
The family you built, all under one roof.

No one really prepares you for the slow goodbye.
The way it sneaks in while you’re still making school lunches.
The ache that grows not from the noise, but from the knowing that one day, the quiet will come.

And you’ll miss the weight of what once felt like too much.

Hold this season gently.
It’s already becoming a memory.
