Watching the floods evolve and the water unleash it’s force over the last few weeks, but especially over the last 3 days has been surreal to say the least. Our thoughts are with all of those Queenslanders who have suffered this event in one way or another and our hearts are with those grieving loved ones. One small positive note is that the sun is shining and the rain has eased.
I tried to explain the situation to Adria yesterday while we watched footage of the Brisbane floods and told her that most people wouldn’t have a bed to sleep in and that they had lost so many things. She asked me if this meant the children we saw had no toys left, when I said yes something hit home, she left the room and came back carrying 2 armfuls of toys and said that these were for the children on the tv that had nothing. She is such a special little soul and even though I wish we could do more, donating a few of our belongings to help those who have to rebuild their lives from zero is the least we can do.
